Help with Attention Difficulties and ADHD/ADD

ADHD help. Emerging research suggests that one of the underlying factors contributing to ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) is related to brain timing, specifically, the synchronization and coordination of neural signals within the brain. In individuals with ADHD, there appears to be a timing mismatch in certain neural networks responsible for attention, impulse control, and executive functions. ADHD help includes addressing these timing issues.

ADHD help in Carmel Valley, Del Mar, Encinitas, Solana Beach and San DiegoThese networks, crucial for regulating behavior and focus, seem to exhibit irregular patterns of activity and communication. When the brain’s timing is disrupted, it can lead to difficulties in sustaining attention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity—hallmark symptoms of ADHD. This understanding of ADHD as a neurodevelopmental condition involving timing and synchronization issues provides new insights into potential treatments and interventions, focusing on improving the brain’s internal clock and enhancing neural pathways’ efficiency. Researchers and clinicians are exploring innovative therapies that target these timing discrepancies, offering promising avenues for more effective ADHD management in the future.

Understanding How to Help those with ADHD

Individuals with ADHD often exhibit difficulties in auditory processing, leading to challenges in filtering out irrelevant sounds and focusing on important auditory cues. This can result in distractibility, impulsivity, and difficulties following verbal instructions, all of which are common symptoms of ADHD. Additionally, deficits in auditory processing can impact a person’s ability to sustain attention, especially in noisy environments. Addressing these auditory processing challenges through targeted interventions, such as auditory training programs, can significantly improve attention, focus, and overall behavioral symptoms in individuals with ADHD. At TLC, we understand and address these auditory processing issues as we treat ADHD as well as teach comprehensive ADHD management strategies.

ADHD help means using the Learning Continuum approach to TLC therapies which treat the CAUSE of attention/focus challenges, we see our students succeed in becoming confident and independent learners without the challenges they had previously suffered with.

It is widely accepted that as many as 50% of those diagnosed with ADHD actually have auditory processing deficits that are masking as attention/focus. Therefore it is important to screen for Auditory Processing Disorders before taking medication or beginning therapy. Click here to learn more about APD.
